Onderzoek

My main research field is the labour market. I am currently working on the wage and employment effects of flexible employment in various European countries. My focus is on the short-term and long-term effects of fixed-term contracts, part-time employment and temporary unemployment on the earnings and employability of workers. Further than flexible employment, I am also engaged in research on the employment opportunities of immigrants in Europe. My PhD research focused on wage dynamics from a substantial and from a methodological perspective. The study of the role of labour market institutions and welfare generocity has been and continues to be an important part of my research. For my research, I have performed cross-country comparative studies with longitudinal panel data for the UK (BHPS), Germany (GSOEP), the Netherlands (SEP), as well as for other European countries (ECHP).
