Gedurende de jaren 2008-2012 ‘pendelend’ tussen Nederland (september-december) en Bolivia (januari-augustus). In de maanden september-december aanwezig op de afdeling de meeste dagen van de week. Afspraken graag via de e-mail. In de periode januari-augustus ook via de e-mail bereikbaar.

Vooral werkzaam op thema’s als sociale bewegingen en basis-organisaties, democratisering, democratie en cultuur, politieke en urbane cultuur, ‘volkscultuur’ en burgerschap, mede in relatie tot etniciteit.

Onderzoek

Bezig met projecten rondom de ‘antropologisering’ van burgerschaps-onderzoek in Latijns Amerika, rondom de pogingen in Bolivia een ‘nieuwe’ –meer indiaanse?– democratie’ te vestigen, rondom vragen over ‘gewone’ versus gemeenschapsrechtspraak, en rondom vragen over de relatie tussen ‘cultuur’ en democratie en mensenrechten/burgerrechten. Lid van CERES, Working Programme 7: “Culture, Religion and Identity Formation”.
