Onderzoek

 INEX is een Europees onderzoeksproject dat werd geleid door het Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) en wordt gesteund door het Seventh Framework Programma van de Europese Commissie. Prof. dr. Monica den Boer was binnen het project verantwoordelijk voor Work Package 3: ‘Value Dilemmas of Security Professionalism’. Het onderzoek binnen dit Work Package richtte zich op de ethische vraagstukken die voortkomen uit de verschuivende rol van veiligheidsprofessionals als gevolg van de versmelting tussen interne en externe veiligheid. Het project ging in mei 2008 van start en duurde tot mei 2011. Aan het INEX project hebben meegewerkt: Dr. Isabelle Ioannides, Dr. Matteo Tondini en Jelle van Buuren. In opdracht van de Asian-European Foundation (ASEF) heeft Prof. dr. Monica den Boer in samenwerking met Dr. Changwon Pyo het handboek ‘Good Policing: Instruments, Models and Practices’ ontwikkelt. Het handboek biedt een overzicht van de ‘good practices for policing’ in Azië en Europa en tracht een bijdrage te leveren aan de verbetering van de politie-ethiek. Het project ging in december 2008 van start en is eind 2010 afgesloten met de publicatie van het handboek. Aan dit onderzoek werkte mee als stagiaire: Charlotte Scheltus.
