Admission requirements and application

This minor is open to university students who have completed their first year of the bachelor programme. 

Admission procedure for VU-students

As a VU-student you can participate in this minor programme in the first semester of the third year in the bachelor. The exact application procedure can be found on the website of application of university minor programmes (In Dutch)

Permission from the examination board is only required if the minor programme contains a course you already have in your bachelors’ programme. This is because a course cannot be counted twice. However, if you chose a substitute for the course you already followed within the Faculty of Social Sciences and the course is given within the second or third year of one of the bachelor programmes permission of the examination board is not required. Please note that it is necessary to sign up for each course within the minor separately on VUnet. You can find more information about register periods on the register webpage.

Admission for students outside the VU

It is also possible to follow a minor programme for students who are not currently studying at the VU. In this case, you have to register as a minor student on student portal VUnet. For more information about registering as a minor student, please consult the VU website.

The Faculty of Social Sciences has to permit you for registering as a minor student and checks if there is room left in the minor and whether your own examination board approved on the minor programme you wish to attend to.
