The minor Entrepreneurship offers a theoretical introduction to the field of entrepreneurship research and is relevant for students who are interested in understanding the role and functions of entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship as a socio-economic and cultural phenomenon.
The minor entrepreneurship is attractive for students from all academic disciplines who are interested in entrepreneurship as a broad socio-economic and cultural phenomenon and who want to pursue a career as policy maker, consultant, researcher or entrepreneur.
Entrepreneurship is defined in this minor as the process of the pursuit of opportunities, regardless of the available resources, with the goal to create social and economic value for the initiator (entrepreneur), the market in which they operate and the community in which they are embedded. As such, entrepreneurship is seen as a socially embedded process. Strong emphasis will be given to social responsibility, value creation and societal impact of entrepreneurial activities.
Ruben Wybenga, student Communicatiewetenschap, followed the Minor Entrepeneurship:
The minor broadened the perspective of my studies. The programme enables me to become an entrepreneur myself or to become an entrepreneurship consultant in the future.
