Admission requirements and application


To qualify for admission to the Master’s in Culture, Organization and Management students must hold a FSW Bachelor’s degree of the VU. If you meet these admission criteria, you do not have to submit a request for admission to the examination board. You can proceed to Step 2 of the application procedure.

1: Request for provisional admission to the examination board


fsw-vierkantIf you do not meet the above criteria, you must submit a request for application to the Faculty of Social Sciences. An English language test is part of the admission procedure.

English Language test

To be admitted to the master you must meet the following results in your English language test:

  • IELTS score with a minimum of 6.5
  • TOEFL score paper based test: 580
  • TOEFL score computer based test: 237
  • TOEFL score internet based test: 92-93

Possibility: VU TOEFL-ITP, a shortened version of the TOEFL test. The result only counts within the VU. Costs are 60 euro. More information about possible exemptions.

Request for application
The examination board will assess each application and establish whether you will be permitted to enter the programme directly or whether you will have to take the pre-Master's course in or a part of this course.* The application deadline is May 31.

Please include in your application:

• A letter in English stating your reasons for applying to the programme.
• A certified copy of your Bachelor's degree certificate.
• An original transcript of courses taken and results obtained.
• A detailed curriculum vitae (or résumé), in English.
• The result of a valid English language test.
