Exemptions
Sometimes students may be eligible for exemption from a course in their programme, for example, if they have already completed a course of comparable content. In this case, students should submit a written request to the programme's Examination Board, no later than one month prior to the start of the course in question. The request must be accompanied by the following information regarding the subject they have already taken:
- a summary of the literature studied
- a certified copy of the interim exam application form or transcript
- the number of credits obtained
- any study assignments and/or syllabi from the course
- the year in which the course commenced
- whether it was full-time or part-time
- whether it was a Bachelor, pre-Master or Master level course, fast-track or postgraduate level
- the name of the programme
- student number
- the candidate's name and address
The Examination Boards meet once a month (except July). Requests should be submitted before the 20th in order to be assessed that month. The applicant will be informed of the Examination Board's decision in writing, soon after the 20th.
Students must be properly registered at the university on one of the Faculty's programmes.
