National and international co-operation

COM researchers have a strong presence on various levels within the VU University Amsterdam, nationally and internationally. This leads to many initiatives and active involvement in various conferences and initiatives towards joint research and academic publications.

All these (international) contacts result in a strong presence of COM-researchers in national and international conferences with papers and in COM-researchers contributing to the organization of conferences. Recent and current examples of the latter: International Discourse Conference 2005, 2006; Africa-Europe Group for Interdisciplinary Studies (AEGIS) 2007, Eastern Academy of Management (EAM) 2007, European Group of Organization Studies (EGOS) 2008. This deep involvement in national and international academic exchanges has over the years, amongst other things, led to a steep increase in the number of internationally refereed articles.

Furthermore, COM houses and co-ordinates two internationalization programmes, one focused on Southeast Asia (Southeast Asia- VU University Amsterdam, SEAVU) and one on southern Africa (South Africa – VU University Amsterdam – Strategic Alliances, SAVUSA).
