Conference 2010
The 2nd Fresh Perspectives Graduate Conference, held at 15 and 16 September 2010, united the PhD students and students in the master programme Social Research of the Faculty of Social Sciences. 54 participants attended the two day conference with presentations, discussions, a keynote of Willem Schinkel, Do’s and Don’ts of more and less seniors (Heidi Dahles, Frank de Bakker, Hanneke Duijnhoven), a conference spy, drinks, dinners and many interesting exchange or fresh perspectives between PhD students and students of the Social Research programme. This second edition was at least as succesful as the first in 2008.
At the end of the conference the participants built a Wishing Wall for the new VU Graduate School for Social Sciences, that held the building blocks for their ideal Graduate School: conceptual tools, tangible advice and ideas about supervision, courses, representation and spatial furnishing! They presented the Wishing Wall to the new director of the Graduate School Heidi Dahles during its Launch Party on Thursday 16 September.
