Vacancy: KNAW Student-Assistants

Currently, there are open positions for 14 new research-assistants. Seven research assistants are sought for social network and social science research and seven with a background in computer or information science.

In 2010 the Royal Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) has awarded the Faculty of Social Sciences of the VU University a subsidy to appoint 12 research assistants per year for one-year contracts to participate in ongoing research in the social sciences and computer science. The Network Institute has decided to extend the programme in order to strengthen the collaboration between the departments within the institute.

Currently, there are open positions for 14 new research-assistants. Seven research assistants are sought for social network and social science research and seven with a background in computer or information science. Research projects of senior staff form the basis of this programme. Students from a research master social research or equivalent or a 2-year master in computer science are invited to apply before the 11th of October 2011.

Candidates will be selected on the basis of their track record and research ambitions. Appointments will be effectuated on 1 November 2011 or 1 January 2012.
