Cooperation with University of Suriname

A joint project by the departments of Political Science, Anthropology, Public Organization and Administration Sciences, and the VU Centre for International Cooperation for support to the University of Suriname has been approved by the Ministry of Development.

Henk Overbeek of our Department and Ms. Laetitia Beek of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Suriname are in charge of the project. Support (i.e. consultancy) will be provided for the BA program in Public Administration and Political Science, as well as the MA in the Sociology of Development at the University of Suriname. It is planned that under this cooperation 4 PhDs from Suriname can spend the first year of their trajectory in the Faculty of Social Sciences and follow the first year of the Faculty’s Graduate Courses.
