The God-Given Land: Religious Perspectives on Land Reform in South Africa
The contributions in this edited volume focus on the understanding of land in Africa, especially in South Africa, after centuries of colonialism and apartheid during which tribal land was taken away and sold for private ownership to whites only. This volume, the result of a 2004 theology conference, offers sociological analysis, theological evaluations and an ethical assessment of the South African land issue.

The chapters are grouped around three important themes: identity, culture and gender; globalisation, poverty and the market; and power and the struggle for life. Throughout the text, the reader is reminded of the contribution of the Christian faith to matters of development and ethics.
