Dr. Renato Athias (Federal University of Pernambuco) is a Brazilian specialist in Amazonian Peoples Studies. His lecture will focus on the relationship between tradition and modernity in mythology and health care (and other aspects of indigenous culture). Discussant will be Dr. Willem Assies (Leiden University).
