The International Office provides practical information as well as financial support for students and staff members who would like to spend a period abroad for study or research purposes.

Paulo Freire Program

The social science departments of UERJ, UFMG, UFPE, UFRGS in Brazil and of the VU University Amsterdam in the Netherlands cooperate in the Paulo Freire Program. This program aims at the exchange of students and cooperation in research.

SAVUSA

SAVUSA (South Africa- VU University Amsterdam-Strategic Alliances) is an institute of VU University Amsterdam. Based on equal partnership between South Africa and the Netherlands, the institute aims to contribute to the academic climate and the transfer of knowledge between both countries.

Southeast Asia-VU cooperation

South East Asia - VU Cooporation represents a network of universities that selected the following common themes for research cooperation: religion, politics and good governance, and transnational networks.
