STUDY GROUP: ETHICS AND INTEGRITY OF GOVERNANCE
Corruption, ethics and integrity have become more important issues in the practice and theory of politics, public administration, law, economics and society. This has led to more awareness and knowledge of the ethical or moral dimension of politics and administration and the causes of and solutions for ethical dilemmas and integrity violations.
The Study Group on Ethics and Integrity of Governance brings together academics and practitioners interested in the ethical dimension of administration and organisation. The group's mission is to establish a long-term network aimed at stimulating research on public sector integrity and ethics in Europe.
The Study Group was launched at the 2003 EGPA Annual Conference in Oeiras, Lisbon and has met regularly since then at the annual EGPA-conferences in September. With its American counterpart (the Ethics Section of the American Society for Public Administration), the Study Group has also organised an international conference (“The First Transatlantic Dialogue”) on ethics and integrity of governance in June 2005 in Leuven (see section 'previous conferences' below).
On this website, you can find more information about the study group and the previous and coming conferences. To keep up with the latest news, you can subscribe the EGPA-ethics mailing list.
