Social and Cultural Anthropology
Are you interested in Anthropology and topics like development aid, culture, identity, religion and sustainable development? Do you aim to graduate with a university masters’ degree? Then the masters’ programme Social and Cultural Anthropology could be just what you are looking for.

Poverty, migration and conflict
Millions of people worldwide live in poverty and war. How do they give meaning to their existence and what strategies do they use to reach a better standard of living and a sense of freedom? Migration seems to be a last resort for desperate people. What do refugees and persons seeking asylum find in their new home country and in what way are they welcomed by the local peoples?

Career prospects
The labor market has a variance in possibilities for anthropologists. You can find anthropologists in policy or managing  positions in companies,  government organizations and NGO’s.  Jobs in  governmental organizations in the social service field or as a communication and organization advisor are suitable positions.

Identity and change
Within the masters’ Social and Cultural Anthropology you can choose between two graduating directions: ‘Constructions of identity and group feeling’ or ‘Development and Social change’.
